🎙️ Episode 15 — Waiting Well: Advent and the Second Coming
 đź“… December 29, 2025
đź”Ť Subtitle: Living in Expectation of Christ’s Return

Welcome to Truth Without Tribalism, the podcast for believers who crave clarity, authenticity, and unity in a world full of noise. I’m your host, Jermaine Pearson, and in this final episode of the year, we’re not just reflecting—we’re preparing. Because the story of Jesus doesn’t end in a manger. It continues with a promise: He’s coming again.

This episode is titled Waiting Well: Advent and the Second Coming. If you’ve been searching “Advent meaning,” “Second Coming of Jesus,” or “how to prepare for Christ’s return,” this episode is your invitation to live with urgency, not apathy. Advent isn’t just about remembering His first coming—it’s about anticipating His return. And the question isn’t if He’s coming back. The question is: Are we ready?

We begin with a personal story rooted in my upbringing as a fourth-generation Seventh-day Adventist. Though I’ve since transitioned into a different faith tradition, I’ll never forget the urgency they instilled in me. Jesus could come at any moment—and you better be ready. That urgency shaped me. And today, it fuels my conviction: Jesus is coming again. Not metaphorically. Not symbolically. Literally. And if we truly believed that, we’d live differently. We’d preach repentance. We’d disciple our families. We’d prepare our hearts—not for a holiday, but for eternity.

Then we open the Word. Matthew 24:42–44 calls us to “keep watch.” That’s not passive—it’s active. Jesus warns that His return will be sudden, like a thief in the night. There’s no countdown. No calendar alert. That’s why readiness must be daily. Titus 2:13 reminds us that the Second Coming is our blessed hope. Jesus isn’t returning as a baby—He’s returning in glory. Revelation 22:20 confirms it: “Yes, I am coming soon!” And the response? “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus.” That’s not fear—it’s faith. That’s not hesitation—it’s hunger.

We go deeper with 2 Peter 3:10 and Hebrews 9:28, which emphasize that Jesus is coming for those who are eagerly waiting. Not casually. Not occasionally. But intentionally. The question isn’t just “Do you believe He’s coming?”—it’s “Are you living like He is?”

🛠️ Practical Application:

  • Live with urgency. Don’t delay repentance.
  • Teach your children. Let them know Jesus is coming.
  • Guard your house—spiritually, emotionally, relationally.
  • Stay in the Word. Let Scripture shape your expectation.
  • Pray with anticipation. “Come, Lord Jesus” should be your daily cry.

🙌 Call to Action: This week, take inventory of your life. Your habits. Your heart. Your home. Ask yourself: If Jesus came tonight, would I be ready? Then make the changes. Repent. Recommit. Reignite your faith. Because waiting well isn’t passive—it’s powerful.
